Collective Traces The main focus of this body of work was towards a deeper examination of the influence of archaeology and archaic objects on Christie Brown’s work, especially those from ancient Egypt. Collective Traces was informed by a study of the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology, in London, which is a significant source of information about the more everyday aspects of life in ancient Egypt. This installation was shown at the Institute of Archaeology in the spring of 2006 and a section of it was installed in the Egyptian galleries in the Manchester Museum from 2007–12.
